I was in bed last night at 11 p.m., practically with the chickens for me, night owl that I am. As I predicted, I was awake at 3 a.m. so I got up and read for a bit, then went back to bed where I must have slept in a weird position because my neck has a crick in it still. I realized this afternoon how much I use landmarks to navigate around when I'm travelling anywhere. Visual cues that tell me where I am on the map, like the mountains over there on the North shore, which allow me to figure out whether I'm going north, south, east or west. I seem to have picked up the dreaded post airplane flying crud. Woke up this morning with a snuffly nose and a scritchy feeling in my chest. Now I have a sore throat and a bit of an icky feeling generally. I have dosed myself with a gram of vitamin C, and have throat lozenges handy. Soothing cups of herbal tea as well.
